Not every sensor is an actuator!
What is an actuator?
It is a material device. It transforms digital information into physical action.
What is the difference with a sensor?
In a connected object or in a device for connecting existing objects, such as tags, there can be several sensors. The mOOnTAGs of the EDITAG Arts range can detect movements, shocks, vibrations, variations in temperature, relative humidity, etc. They transform the physical measurement into digital information.
In reality, sensor and actuator are complementary!
Our mOOnTAG range designed for works of art can also operate several scenarios.
Close protection of works of art and video surveillance
Placed on the work, the mOOnTAG detects movements, shocks and vibrations. In the event of an anomaly, several possible actions: motion detection can trigger a local alarm or even the activation of the video surveillance zoom on the work concerned!
Preventive conservation and e-mail alert
Directly installed on the work or in a display case, the mOOnTAG can, as an option, integrate temperature and relative humidity sensors.
The user determines thresholds for these two measurements. When these thresholds are exceeded, the tag can send an alert by email to notify the teams.
