Electronic distance sensors can be used as a mediation tool

Published on 17/11/2021

The advantages of an all-in-one, multi-use solution.

We have always presented the sensors of the mxD range as electronic distance tools  to protect objects, works of art and access from theft and vandalism.

There is another possible use:  use them for mediation.

The operating principle of these sensors is simple: the laser beam measures the time it takes, called “time of flight”, to travel the distance between them and the object or area to be protected.
If this “time of flight” is modified, they trigger a local or remote alert.

Now imagine that we want to trigger something other than an alert … The sensor then becomes a discreet tool for interaction with visitors! It can trigger the start of a video, sound, lighting in the same room or even in another

An infinity of scenarios then becomes possible!

In addition, as you have the history of sensor triggers, you will be able to measure the success of your visit.

The all-in-one then takes on its full meaning.
If in the context of a first temporary exhibition you need to protect a work, the same detector can be used as a mediation tool for another exhibition!

The EDITAG Arts team supports you throughout these different projects thanks to its “as-a-service” offer,

no need to worry about setting up between two exhibitions, we do it for you!
